This!! book!! I love this book!! The highlight of this book for me was just the world-building. I'm glad I read the Shadow and Bone trilogy first to get an understanding of the world and magic system, but this book adds an element of international and inter-ethnic tensions between the Ravkans, Kerch, Fjerdans, Shu which was just amazing. Bardugo just writes so well, I loved how we weaved between the different characters and the past and the present but did so in a way that was very comprehensible. I was rarely lost while reading this book, which is such a feat because the plot was complex! The characters were amazing, the romance was soooo subtle which I loved, just all in all a fantastic read.

The Crows spin off of Shadow and Bone is so much more entertaining than it's predecessor. If you thought Shadow and Bone was a little dull [like I did] and you're thinking of skipping this series because of that, don't. If you haven't read Shadow and Bone and don't really want to, you can still read Six of Crows on it's own. There is very little you will miss by not reading the other series.
