An absolutely awesome read! After years of grad school readings then a year of non-fiction, this book brought back that feeling of wanting to devour a story.

The characters are wonderfully complex and (mostly) lovable and Bardugo has managed to capture the fun of a heist whilst keeping us on our toes with twists and turns.

Additionally, there is great disability representation. With the disabled characters being portrayed far beyond their disability and without disability being used as something to be 'overcome', forgotten at key moments, or inspiration porn. It just is, just as we disabled folks just are.

10/10 a must-read for fantasy lovers!

This was so fun to read! Being back in the Grishaverse was a blast, with a new set of characters that are each so intriguing but a as crew absolutely unstoppable. I loved the little hints at characters we've met in the "Shadow & Bone" Trilogy. The story kept me on the edge of my seat, questioning at every turn whether they'll make it or not. I cannot wait to continue with "Crooked Kingdom" to see hiw the Crows' story continues.

Third read and still one of my all time favorite books. The world building is incredible and smoothly integrated, as are the flashbacks/background for all the characters. I absolutely love the diversity in this book, the strongly built characters, and how fantastically well written they are. Even as a reread, the plot is thrilling and the twists and turns are still exciting. The found family aspect of a ragtag group of teens who couldn't be any more different from each other is so heartwarming. I could sing this book's praises for ages. There are many darker themes, so check your trigger warnings, but it is absolutely worth it in my opinion.

A perfect read for anyone unsure about starting a fantasy series!

I don’t particularly gravitate towards fantasy books but after all the hype I’ve seen this book get I had to check it out for myself. I’m so glad I did because this book is truly for anyone who loves the found family trope and a good heist. Admittedly, the lingo is a bit confusing as first if you haven’t read the Shadow & Bone trilogy but it’s not impossible to understand by any means. I would also say it had a slow start (hence the four stars) but after about 5 chapters you really start to get into it and form a connection with these characters. Overall, this book will make for a delightful reread in the future.
