A very nice set of poems that made me curious for more. While there were some works I found stunning and extraordinary, some of the others were "just" really good. While I could identify her genius in some poems in others I couldn't see why she got the Nobel Prize. Nevertheless, this is a very good collection and I probably would have given 5 stars if I didnt have the "Nobel Prize expectation" in the back of my mind. Outstanding for me was one poem in which she discusses the possibility of
the nature really having so many different options for different faces and if it's not rather us passing Alexander the Great's face on our way to work.

I'm not much for poetry. I don't know much about it. I enjoyed these poems, but perhaps I don't have a critical mind enough to really speak to them.

4.5 stars. Books like this one are the reason why I love readathon a.
If it weren’t for Women In Translation I wouldn’t have read this, because I hadn’t heard about Szymborska before.
I read this as an ebook, but I’m definitely planning on buying it and finding more work of hers.
