*Read up to chapter 169*
I absolutely fell in love with the tv show The Untamed and now I'm on a mission to read all of the different forms of the story. This is the manhua based on the book The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation / Mo Dao Zu Shi. Whilst I got towards the end of watching the live action drama, I started to read the manhua and I basically binged read it in about three sittings. I absolutely loved this manhua and I would highly recommend it and I can't wait for more of the chapters to come out because it's still being released. I'm going to keep on reading it as it gets updated. I find it especially interesting seeing as this story contains a m/m romance and due to censorship in China, you can pretty much see the levels of censorship based on the different adaptions (manhua / donghua / audio / novel / live action) so I would definitely recommend fans to read the manhua because you'll see things included in the manhua that you may not have seen before. It's a fast and enjoyable read.

This book is stunning! Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian are so cuteeee. The romance in this book is a slow burn but when the male leads finally get together it’s so satisfying

xie lian and hua cheng from [b:heaven official’s blessing 天官赐福 |44283411|Heaven Official’s Blessing 天官赐福 |墨香铜臭|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1551802602l/44283411._SX50_.jpg|66416862] are precious, bittersweet, epic, and their relationship in a word is devotion. wei wuxian and lan wangji are full of yearning, explosive tension, and the giddy feeling of being around the one you love, excited to see what they'd do next because you're just that enamored by them. i love both of these couples so much, and i'm so happy i got to experience the world of wei wuxian and lan wangji because wow, did i have a shit ton of fun.
wei wuxian is a relaxed genius, cultivating his own path by creating demonic cultivation. it makes me giggle a bit at how brilliant his mind is, yet how effortlessly he handles problems and has a one-track mind on alcohol. he's truly a grandmaster of demonic cultivation. he's a pure-hearted hedonist that's shameless and is excellent with kids. i truly love him dearly. but lan wangji clearly loves him more.
love how hua cheng's confident ass and lan wangji's strict ass are also both yearning asses as well. it was a delight to watch lan wangji's various gay panics when he was young, and i was cackling to see how he turned into a confident gay, versus wei wuxian's confused gay ass. all of their scenes together are soft and magical. yes, yes, there was hot smut but all of the wei wuxian and lan wangji scenes just hit so different. their interactions always got my attention, and i reveled in every look, every touch, every drunk scene, and every flirt wei wuxian threw at lan wangji. and them literally raising kids? [throws myself out the window] ADORABLE. everything i wanted!!!! lan sizhui is the lovechild between wei wuxian and lan wangji; he strikes a perfect balance of wei wuxian's heart and lan wangji's morals. lan jingyi is, as the people say, the most un-lan lan there is; the sass coming off this kid is insane. and jin ling is too fucking funny to make fun of.
also the confession scene? fucking iconic. if you haven't read it yet, i hope you enjoy and scream as much as i did. and if you did read it, let's cackle together at how hilarious the timing and the first statement was. wei wuxian really is shameless. (spoiler ahead!)
the only thing i can say is that i wish i actually read wei wuxian's death scene. did i want pain? yes is the only answer. but you know what provided the pain instead? the yicheng arc.
if you read this book already, then you know what the fuck i'm talking about. that shit was hard to read, and i cried so hard because what the fuck. that arc was just too fucking much. it was a brilliantly written short plot with unique characters that had me wishing we got more of them in the main story. MXTX doesn't provide as many prominent female characters as male ones, but when one does appear, they're legendary. just look at wen qing (spoiler:), madam yu (honestly, pop off i loved her prickly character), jiang yanli (soft bun who just loves to take care of her brothers uwu) and a-qing! a-qing is one of my favorite female characters ever in MXTX's novels because wow i am in awe of her courage, her tenacity, and her heart. she tolerates no bullshit. and she'll go to the ends of the earth for those she cares about. no wonder all the lan kids cried over her story. she's just that amazing. it's hysterical how many characters i admire in this novel, but i can't help it because they're all so fucking good. it's a huge cast of characters, yet each character is distinct and unique, adding to the strength of this world and its plot. this book is fucking insane (affectionately).
to end this off, i just wanted to say that i loved experiencing this intoxicating story, loved meeting all these hilarious, genuine characters, and loved watching wei wuxian falling completely in love with lan wangji with no thoughts of turning back, finally sealing their happy ending. i'm outrageously happy at finishing this story and letting these characters into my heart. and with that, i'm off — riding into the sunset on a donkey and cradling a jar of emperor's smile in my hand, ready to see where the (every)day (wink wink everyday means everyday) takes me.

yo can y'all believe that lan wangji fucking cried when wei wuxian confessed his love for him? i'm this close to the ledge.the only thing i can say is that i wish i actually read wei wuxian's death scene. did i want pain? yes is the only answer. but you know what provided the pain instead? the yicheng arc.

This book gave me so many feels. It has everything you could possibly ask for: action, PLOT, CHARACTERS AND ONE SWEET AMAZING CUTE EPIC LOVE STORY!! I love Wangxian with all I haveeeee!!
I love the complexity of the story and its constant change of timeline...
I don’t even know what to say, besides go read this right now and don’t waste your life anymore without lan zhan and wuxian in it!!

You know that feeling after you finish reading something so good and now you don't know what to do with your life. I just finished it and I just want to read it all over again ;;;;
If you like a well written story with lots of complex yet loving characters go make yourself a favor and read it.
I hope in the future we can have and official English or other languages realises, but to the translators thank you for you hard work and for making this story accessible for us who don't speak Chinese.
