While I was intrigued enough by the plot to finish the book, I guess I just felt dissatisfied by this book. I found the main character to be a little insufferable and I felt like he never grew from the beginning of the story to the end, he just felt lost and unable to handle the consequences of his own actions. I do understand his failure to cope with this case was a point of the story but I didn’t like that the outcome of the case wasn’t pleasant, he never got closure for his childhood trauma, and he messed up his career and personal relationships. I do think there is merit for a story like that, with more realistic ending but I guess it wasn’t for me.
