I picked this one up because something online said if you loved "One of Us is Lying" you would like this book. And sure it had a.... similar vibe? But the other is still winning in my books.
Was this a great concept for a book? Absolutely. Was it executed pretty terribly? Also yes. I liked the idea of where it was going, and the twisting of the stories. I figured out the first and second twists about 3 chapters into the book which is pretty disappointing. I felt that the writing was very Tell, and no Show. I would have loved it a lot more with some more unreliable narrating, and not full-on telling us one character is a manipulative A-Hole 30 pages into the book (hardly a spoiler, it happens so quickly). Leave some things to the imagination!

I loved this book! It goes at a nice upbeat pace and holdt through out the book i was never bored or overwhelmed. I had many "oh shit that actually happened" moments which is the goal when reading mistery books
Well. This was a bit of a train wreck if I do say so. Lets explore why.
1. I don’t think there’s a single positive, healthy relationship. Horrifically enough, I think that wasn’t the intention. No one knows how to love in a healthy way. In moderation. With clear judgment. It’s obsessive all around.
2. Speaking of obsession. Parker is obsessed with Ruby. Shane is obsessed with Ruby. Juniper is obsessed with Ruby. (If you’re wondering what there is about Ruby that’s so captivating I really couldn’t say.) Ruby is obsessed with Shane. Brett is obsessed with Parker. And Garret... okay. Garret only likes Juniper in a chill way.
3. Juniper. My sweet girl. Is she lesbian? Is she bisexual? Does she still not know her sexual identity? Is she a character that’s meant to but not committed to drawing in a queer audience? Who can say. All I know is she either is in love with Ruby (and if so just say it) or she’s got a messed up infatuation with the girl. But, again, infatuation is healthy in this setting so it’s possible.
4. Shane and Ruby.

When I picked this book up I thought the premise sounded really intriguing. I was excited to try it out. But I don’t even know what to say other than I was very disappointed. The plot was all over the place and very hard to follow. None of the characters were likeable. The mystery was dumb in my opinion and the bad guy was super easy to figure out. I called everything that happened and I’m usually not good at guessing plot in advance. I was very let down by this and I wouldn’t waste my time on this when there are other much better thriller/mystery books out there.

Put me in such a reading slump
They misnamed the title, shouldn’t be ‘This Lie Will Kill You’, should be ‘ This Book Will Kill You’, cus I literally nearly ended it all trying to read this

HOOLY COW THIS BOOK WAS INCREDIBLE! I was really excited when I read the synopsis, but when I was reading it, I genuinely couldn't stop. I needed to know all about it; see all the twists and turns and find out exactly what was happening.
5 teens had a role to play in the death of another teen. 1 year later, they're invited to a murder mystery dinner, and things do not go according to plan. Once one of them passes out while going to take a sip of their cider, things take a big turn. This book becomes Clue, but with more horror. It's a suspenseful jaunt through the night, and it's exciting and wonderful to witness.

It is boring since it's very predictable. Nothing too exciting as I expected it would be. :/
idk
it was a nice plot but like badly executed?
and the characters had no depth, like they had backgrounds but they were really inconsistent.
and like, have they ever met a teenager, because this sort of stuff just doesn’t happen, like no you definitely wouldn’t start slow dancing with the new boy because of a ringtone, just no...
also i didn’t like any of the characters, that probably didn’t help. no one was really likeable.
also what was up with all the boob observations at the beginning...
