I am so sad that this is the last book in the series, I am glad that the author will be writing more short stories in this world and I certainly look forward to reading those. Kelley Armstrong is one of my favourite authors, I love her writing style and I love this series. I do have to say that I expected a bit more, something more epic, from this book. But overall it is a good and enjoyable book And I shouldn't mention that I still loved the parts from Elena's POV more.

Well the story is as good and solid as any other book by Kelley Armstrong. This book is also very much like all the earlier books in this series. It has the same feel to it than the last few books and I actually think it lacked that OMG-this-is-the-last-book-in-this-series feel. I do think the author meant it that way and I have to say that I still loved it and the ending was great and fitted the story. It just doens't feel like the last book in this series and I expected something a bit more epic. There certainly where great parts, but overal I just had different expectations. These expectations where probably due to the fact that this is the last book in this series and this book felt just like any other book.

This book is told from Savannahs point of view, just like the two books before this. I love Savannah as a character and I really liked how we see her grown in this series, and even in the last few books she grows so much more. Nevertheless I still love reading from Elena's POV more, probably also because werewolves are my favourite supernatural creature. We do get to see all the important characters enough in this book, every character has a part to play and we get a chapter from all the main characters like Eve, Paige, Jaime, Elena and Hope. I liked seeing them all make a comback in this book and everyone play their part.

While it doens't make much sense to discuss world building of the last book in a series, I have to mention that there where still a few tidbits of world building information added in this book. I have the feeling that we will never know everything about this world.

This book wrapped up this series really good, I enjoyed reading it and while there are better books in this series it was a great book. At the end of the book we have a good idea of what happened to all of the characters and there is even a short story from Elena's POV included. Also there is the mention that there are more short stories still to come, so this isn't really the end. This book also doens't feel like the end and I can't wait to read all the short stories that are still to come.

To conclude: I really liked this book and it was a good last book in this series. The book wrapped everything up, but it still didn't had that last book feeling. It is the last book and that still feels strange, like this series isn't supposed to end, but ofcourse it does.

Five reasons to read Thirteen:

1) This is it, the big finale. All the previous books and plot points link up to create something incredibly impressive. This story creates a scenario where it makes sense to have all these characters present and fighting, which couldn't have been easy, and it wraps up all the past storylines really well.

2) I am forever impressed by how consistent Kelley Armstrong makes this universe. She's keeps track of all the plot points, all the characters, all the personalities and facts that are spread out over dozens of books and short stories.

3) The first time I read this series, I got to this book and stopped. I desperately wanted to read it but couldn't bring myself to because then it would be over. I've never felt that for a series before. Fortunately, Kelly Armstrong kept up this universe in short stories, novellas, and YA series, which I am eternally grateful for.

4) Although I loved seeing all the old characters again, one surprise was Jaz. Personal Demon already showed him as an impressive villain, but here we get to see exactly how skilled he really is. He feels truly dangerous, which given the position he's in, is thrilling. Karl also grew on me a lot in this book.

5) I loved getting to read the bonus story at the end. It's fitting that the series should end with Elena and the Pack as they embark on a new chapter.

Five drawbacks to Thirteen:

1) Although I like the multiple POV aspect because it feels like honouring the past main characters, Paige's chapter disappointed me. Elena, Jaime, and Hope's chapters are full of action; Eve's is tense and gives new information. Paige's doesn't do either.

2) Something I started noticing in the previous book and that cemented itself in this one is that Savannah's POV isn't as unique as I would have liked. When seeing her earlier in the series, she was such an interesting and odd character, but here she feels like a disjointed combination of the other main characters.

3) The stolen magic plot point, which started two books ago so it's been going on for a while, reached an anti-climactic resolution. It's built up to be incredibly important and life-changing, but with everything else going on, it was brushed over.

4) The threat the villains pose doesn't feel all that dangerous because it's always stated rather than shown. Concrete evidence that the protagonists are right to be afraid would have upped the story's tension and made me take the bad guys seriously.

5) If not for the bonus short story at the end of the book, I would have found the ending disappointing. It doesn't finish with a bang; it kind of peters out.

Great ending to the series !! Wish there was more full length novels !

I'm a bit sad it's over, but I like how it ended. You don't always get happy endings.

So sorry to see this series end!

5 stars. Despite me not loving the previous two books in this series, Armstrong was able to bring it home and really make the finale something incredible. I was honestly so worried but this was a fantastic way to the end the series.

The entire gang are in this and it was such a wonderful time to see everyone interacting with each other. This is primarily in Savannah’s point of view but there are some chapters where we get Eve, Elena, Hope, Paige and Jaime’s pov which was fun. Also, we get on page interaction between Savannah and her mother Eve and that hit me all in the feels. Eve is already dead when the series starts so we never get to see those two interact so I thought it was beautiful and I liked the way it was done. I loved seeing them work together.

The stakes were high in this and there were a lot of intense moments. This was paced really well. There was never a dull moment for me and I was extremely happy with the way everything wrapped up because all of these characters deserve HEAs. I’ve loved this series so much and I’m glad that there are still a bunch of short story collections because I seriously cannot get enough of this world and these characters. I look forward to re-reading these books again because this has become one of my favorite series.

This book is just filled with so much awesomeness. None of my favorite people die, people grow up, become closer, understand each other better. It's just an all around great book. There's action, romance, and all sorts of different relationships that get stronger in this series. I love the familial relationships the most. The one between Savanah, Paige, and Lucas and the one she has with her brothers are my favorite. I have also always loved the bond between the Pack and also how Savanah fits in. When you look at it ALL these relationships have something to do with Savanah (with possibly the exception of Hope and Karl). So although the series begins and ends with Elena (if you include From Russia With Love), it made sense that the final three books be mostly about Savanah.
