Words cannot express how happy I am to finally read this volume! I've been waiting for two months now, but it was worth it!

Following the trend of "Hashira was really one-dimensional when introduced but is interesting now," Kanroji is fucking adorable and I love her! I know it's easy to get on her case because she's a woman and only joined the Demon Slayers Corps to find a strong husband, but I really enjoy her bright and bubbly personality. Also, it's very obvious that she takes her job seriously (she's a Hashira, after all) and she has gained wisdom from her work, so she isn't some flighty, immature young woman looking to get hitched.

On the other hand, I'm conflicted about how I feel about Tokito. I get the feeling his backstory will flesh him out, but as it stands I don't like him that much. I did like his talk with Tanjiro before the demon attacked because it was the rare moment when he wasn't being an asshole, but he's definitely my least favorite Hashira so far.

Speaking of conversations, I fucking LOVE how Tanjiro is completely unfazed by Genya's hatred towards him. Also, it took Genya LITERALLY KICKING HIM OUT to get Tanjiro to leave him alone. Tanjiro is such a great person, but boy is he dense. Finally, Inosuke's reaction to Tanjiro regaining consciousness was HILARIOUS. He is a fucking wackjob but I love him anyway,

That's all I've got for now. Moving on to volume 13!

A really strong volume all around! It felt a teeny bit sporadic, but each different aspect and plot point ended up being very interesting and tying together well. This was a nice change of pace after the chaos of the last couple volumes, too. It's also enjoyable getting more expansion of the world of the Demon Slayer Corps and getting to see the inner working of the sword smith village -I feel like their role is important, and having Tanjiro be here as he finishes up healing was a great writing move.
Finally, I badly want Nezuko and Kanroji to get more time together because they are absolutely adorable. :3 This volume is also getting extra points from me due to the Inosuke on the ceiling gag, which had me CACKLING.

We are halfway in the series! 11 volumes more to go, eep! In this one Tanjiro recovers, then visits the town of the swordsmiths (which had me laugh how that was done, I mean, I get it being secret, but all that effort? And then given the ending.. ). I wasn't happy to see Tanjiro's swordsmith again, I mean, that dude gets ANGRY at Tanjiro in a way that just rubs me wrong and for all the dumb reasons. I mean, swords are NOT supposed to break or chip that easily. And given that more people have problems with his swords/his attitude, it surprises me that he can still be a smith. But thankfully there is plenty of great other stuff happening, though the new kid was a bit annoying. He started off OK, but then went in some kind of mode that just rubbed me wrong, what is up with these people in this town? We also meet Genya and Mitsuri Kanroji! And later someone else. I loved seeing these though Genya. Please. Stop being deredere. XD The ending was exciting and OMG I need to read on!
Oh, and I love how Tanjiro stays kind and friendly and polite even in scary situations.

“I’LL TRY
HARDER
AND
HARDER…

…TO BEAT
MUZAN
KIBUTSUJI
HIMSELF!”

With the entertainment district wrapped up, Tanjiro departs to the Swordsmith Village to meet Hanezuka, to have his sword reforged yet again! This volume is half training arc and half setting up for the next battle, with that of a couple upper rank Kizuki Hantengu and Gyokko, and their entrance into the hidden village.
