Can I just start by saying how upset I am? This audiobook was listed at 20 hours long, but in reality, it's a mere 10 hours long and it repeats over from the beginning. I assume it's just a glitch, but I'm just so upset! I know, I know. It's not Dave Hill's fault. (Probably?) But it is also just slightly his fault because I loved this book so much and I WAS SO REALDY for a full 20 hours of this book! (Sequel please?!)

My other confession: I picked up the audiobook 100% because of the title and cover. I love moose. I love Canada. Bam, give me this book right now please. Apologies to Dave Hill because I initially had no idea who he was, but 10 seconds in, I instantly knew that this was going to be a five star read from me. And I was right, because this was fantastic.

Dave Hill's love for Canada filled my Canadian heart with joy. Highly recommend the audiobook because his personality really shines through his narration, and his humour is right up my alley. I couldn't stop smiling and laughed out loud so many times. He could talk about the most mundane things (and sometimes he does, haha) and he somehow makes it the most fun story to listen to.

From trying to find out why the rest of Canada hates Toronto, to eating his way through way too much poutine across the country, to petting baby goats while all the children looked on in jealousy, to making his way through Canadian winter, I was with him and rooting for him all the way.

I was sad that he didn't make it to a lot of cities, but hey. SEQUEL PLEASE.

Still so upset this wasn't 20 hours long 🥴😂

I think that Dave Hill is one of the funniest writers who’s homes translate well to the page; however, this fell flat due to being a travelogue that didn’t have a narrative or more of a through line to anchor it.

As much as I wanted to like this book, I found it rambling and boring. I kept skipping pages hoping something would happen. I’m sure there are some cute or interesting anecdotes, but I’m marking this as a DNF.

As a fellow member of the quarter Canadian club, I had to read this book. And it was hilarious! Laughed out loud many times.

I picked up the book because my wife brought it home from the library and it looked interesting. It was much funnier than I expected - I don't know Dave Hill, but these kinds of books are usually good for a couple of chuckles and that's about it. I really enjoyed this book - I liked his approach, and I actually laughed out loud several times. I don't know it the book is objectively funny, or if Hill's style just really appealed to me, but I really enjoyed it. It might be the best book on Canada that I've read by a non-Canadian. It's definitely better than Mike Myers' Canada, written by a former Canadian.

A fun light listen (I listened to the audiobook) by a very enthusiastic "1/4 Canadian". Made me smile! [Also, he visited some places I never have.. I should change that]
