That was a stupid ending. Worst of the worst.

She needs her throne back. There could have been so many better endings. Instead of this disappointment.

If it hadn’t been for that, this book would have been rated much higher. I liked it leading up to that disappointing ending. And now there’s no chance I’m reading the other books.

More like 3.5

Sooo i did finished this book and yeah what can i say? It was okay like it wasn't groundbreaking or originally BUT i enjoyed it a lot and it was kinda refreshing to have a heroine that's actually a feminist ( you know not like the one who say they do and then bash every girl they meet

I loved everything about this book. From the flipped trope where the Princess saves the stable boy to how strong all the female characters were. I absolutely cannot wait to have this whole series on my shelves. Definitely a must buy!

I loved this book so much it is so much better than the book it is inspired by I loved every aspect of it this book was so good I am really looking forward to the next book. I really loved the characters especially Ama and Luca I loved their romance so much it moved along at a great pace and never felt too fast. I loved Ama for her strength and take nothing from no one attitude and her want to do anything to save the person she loves no matter the cost. I loved Luca for his warm and gentle personality and his complete and utter faith in Ama I loved how far he would go to be with her. I loved the plot it was so well written I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. So overall I loved this book and I am really looking forward to the next one.

An interesting love story. Oddly enough, a total find-it-quest story. Except for this time, the "it" in question is a person. The unofficial love of her life is kidnapped to force her to marry another. Obviously, this feminist ain't about that life so she decides to be the true warrior queen that everyone expects her to be. I liked the story as it is exactly as you expect it to be, but that being said, it does very little to subvert stereotypes. Like there's too much betrayal for it not to be expected. To a point where it's almost annoying. I'll agree that the end was really good and I'm looking forward to the sequel.

When Princess Amarande's father dies under mysterious circumstances, the other kingdoms rush to propose marriage to her. She refuses to marry to claim her thrown, insisting that she can rule alone. In order to force her into marriage, her love the stableboy Luca is kidnapped. The kidnappers don't expect Amarande to chase after them. Crowns are fought over and lines of succession are blurred. Will Amarande marry and who will survive?

Not enough character development and emotion

Luca might be the most "damsel-in-distress" character I've ever read about at this point.

This is my third time reading The Princess Will Save You, and I don't care how cheesy it may be; it's still an entertaining read. While it isn't anything particularly new or nuanced, the story is fast-paced and filled with enough tension to keep the reader intrigued.
Basically, Amarande is a princess about to take the throne following her father's sudden death, only her stableboy and childhood friend, Luca, is kidnapped and held hostage in exchange for her marriage to a prince from a neighboring kingdom. The stakes are high throughout the story, and there is almost never a moment without danger, which is honestly probably why I enjoyed it so much. There's a bit of political maneuvering, plenty of romance, and some fun plot twists, and I've seen some people compare it to The Princess Bride, but as the uncultured reader I am, I have not seen the movie or read the book to agree or disagree.
My only issue with this book is that the characters tend to lack depth. I found Taillefer to be the most intriguing due to his ruthless nature and potential for some interesting arcs in book two, whereas Renard was much less fun to read about. I liked Ula and Urtzi the most out of the side characters, and while I didn't like Osana as much, I'm excited to see what's in store for all of them. Amarande is a very strong female protagonist, but she lacks motivation besides her love for Luca, and I just wish she had a bit more personality. The same goes for Luca, who doesn't do much except get knocked out, kidnapped, and poisoned repeatedly. I wish he had a bit more fight to him, although I think book two might help with that.
The Princess Will Save You is a high-stakes YA action adventure tinged with romance and politics and perfect for anyone looking for a quick, easy fantasy read.
