A really fascinating premise let down by poor execution; the imagery was too contrived and any interesting points of discussion were over-explained to death.

I'd give the first 25% of the book a 3.5 and the rest a 2.5 so average it out to 3.

I just found all the characters to be so unlikeable and I found the time jumps to be really confusing.

I really wanted to like this book more. But I feel like it was just descriptions of terrible people doing terrible things and I didn't know why any of them would like each other at all.

Just wasn't really grabbing me, and my loan was expiring. I'm not that curious about what happens next.

Roberta was so relatable and lovable, and at the same time very strange. I long for the kind of friendship she made with Stevie while also seeing the issues with their friendship. i appreciate how the author managed to position Roberta between to loving and flawed relationships in the end and was able to point to the good parts of both, but maybe the Hunter's Stew/Roberta's relationship with herself was what mattered the most in the end
