A beautiful ending to Ged's story. I almost wish this had been included in The Other Wind, but understand why it wasn't. Le Guin once again asks us what it means to die, and I once again cry.

A beautiful end to the stories of Earthsea. Especially poignant as a posthumous publication. “There is nothing to fear.”

This is the perfect short story to end the Earthsea cycle
it is just Ged reminiscing on his life as an old man sitting by the fire.
the story summaries all his adventure in a short sweet , few page story.

“Before bright Éa was, before Segoy
Bade the islands be,
The wind of morning on the sea….
O my joy! be free.”
Thank you, Ursula K Le Guin.
