FINAFUCKINLY the will they won’t they nonsense is resolved and THEY WILL!!! The slow burn of nine long years, the truest form of enemies to lovers there is. Although Gilbert never once regarded Anne as an enemy he loved her from jump. It was Anne who despised him and for what 😭 All’s well that ends well! And it did, the very end of the book was the start of their happily ever after. While everyone around them is getting engaged, then married, then having babies. They took their sweet time and it was still worth it!

Anne is still lovable and figuring herself out, but the story felt disjointed at times with letters and change of pov (couldn't stand Davy's ch). She finishes up college with her ideas of romantic proposals dashed while meeting plenty of lovely new characters (Phil, Aunt J). I feel like there are heavy themes of marrying poor for love always, that I kinda rooted for Roy, but I do stan our ever loyal Gilbert. Finally it happens what everyone has seen for years!!!

This book really impressively captures what it’s like to turn 20. Even if it is over 100 years old at this point! Anne has a way of looking at the world that never ceases to inspire. big fan <3

این کتاب شاید بین این سه جلدی که خوندم مورد علاقه‌ام نبوده باشه، اما از قشنگیش کم نمی‌کنه. این بار آنی می‌ره دانشگاه، دل می‌بره و دل می‌شکنه و عاشق می‌شه. یه‌مقدار حال و هوای کتاب‌های آستین رو داشت، چون بیشتر از هر چیز راجع‌به ازدواج صحبت شد اما قابل درکه، چون ما داریم پله‌پله با آنی جلو می‌ریم و باهاش زندگی می‌کنیم، این بار هم نوبتِ شروع داستان‌های عاشقانه‌اش بود.
در ضمن خیلی چیزها تغییر کرده و اول از همه این تغییرات رو در گرین‌گیبلز می‌بینیم، از شکستن ملکه برفی گرفته تا پیر شدن ماریلا. به‌نظرم برای همینه که هنوز کتاب اول بهترین کتابه، چون همه چیز تازه و سبز و جوانه. از دست دادن آدم‌ها و محیط سرسبز اونلی برام غمناکه، من رو یاد خونه‌ی مادربزرگم میندازه که به‌مرور باغ‌های اطرافش جاشون رو به آپارتمان دادن و چمن‌ها آسفالت شدن، همسایه‌ها رفتن و غریبه‌های جدید اومدن. یه حس دلتنگی برای گذشته و امید به آینده در تمام کتاب‌های آنی شرلی هست و حس خونه داره.
