Pudding the horse is the real MVP of this book.

This was SO STINKIN CUTE I’m mad it’s over. I’m not a fan of Critical Role nor do I play D&D but none of that mattered going into this book. This is just a wholesome journey that I loved being a part of.

Guinevere is so cute and charming. She gives major Rapunzel from Tangled vibes. I would read a whole series of books of her grand adventures if I could. And Oskar is so down bad for her always. I loved them both so very much.

Idk if Thea has plans to write anything else with this couple but if she does, I’ll be reading it no questions asked.

I so loved Gwen and Oskar. What a perfect little love story filled with adventure, banter, laughter and spice. I could spend all my time with them and never be bored. I loved it so much!

My favourite romance of the year so far. Of the various novels that have stemmed from Critical Role, this is by far the best one and stands on it's own the best/ is the most enjoyable if you are not a CR fan (which I very much am). The pace at which Oskar and Gwen's relationship developed felt perfect and effortless and they are top contenders for favourite romance couple ever. Only reason it was not a 5 star is because the author had peppered in hints of a more serious subplot throughout but then all of a sudden the entire murderous/criminal subplot was shoved into the last like 40 pages. If this plot had the near flawless pacing to match the development of the romance then this might be the perfect novel. I also love the author's prose and now VERY MUCH want to read her other works.
