Great magic system and world building as already evidenced by Books 1 and 2. Very satisfied at how the book ended. There are some really raw, powerful, incredibly human emotions that Jemisin is able to capture that I really admire. While I felt there were portions of the book that dragged on a bit, I thoroughly enjoyed the book start to finish. The conclusion did an excellent job of tying up all the loose ends of both characters and plot, while still leaving the ending open for speculation. It’s sad that Goodreads only has a 4 and 5 star option and nothing in between because I think 4.25 or so is probably more accurate. Will definitely recommend to all fantasy lovers that I know!

This trilogy means so much to me. While I think that books 2 and 3 had some pacing issues, this story and characters live in my heart.
