i liked the show better if i’m being honest but i still love the crumbs this gave me of simon and daphne! (you should’ve seen the look on my face when i realised his actor wasn’t returning for future seasons…)

i think the show did the suspense better especially for the duel part… there was absolutely no danger there. they weren’t even close to shooting each other when daphne arrived. and she always seems to be the one getting hurt when the boys are fighting (that’s convenient!).

i also kind of wish he didn’t burn the letters in the end (i read the second epilogue).

but again i liked it for the most part, especially because there’s more detail into what simon was thinking the whole time! so if you’ve watched the show and you’re looking for simon crumbs… i think this is the perfect book for you <3

Segunda vez que he leído este libro y tengo la misma opinión que la primera vez, y le he puesto 4 estrellas porque no puedo poner 3,5.
Con El Duque y yo nos adentramos en un mundo ya bastante visto en este tipo de novela, las usuales escenas en bailes, una familia multitudinaria y una heroína que al principio es bastante agradable pero que a la mitad del libro se ve que está lejos de ser la usual protagonista super bondadosa para enseñar una faceta bastante egoísta, cosa que la autora no debe ver así porque en casi ningún momento lo trata como tal.
Si le he puesto algo más de 3 estrellas es porque la primera mitad del libro, con la relación de amistad entre los personajes como amigos, se hace bastante amena y entretenida. Con la segunda mitad lo único interesante es la forma en la que Simon supera sus traumas porque, como ya he dicho, Daphne deja bastante que desear con sus acciones.
La narrativa no es nada del otro mundo pero por ello también es un libro que he podido leerme en una tarde sin ningún problema. Si queréis algo empalagoso, bonito y rápido esta es una buena opción.
