This is a rough one to rate because a four feels too high but a three feels too low?? Ultimately, I loved some chapters of this while others were difficult for me to get through, but I'm always partial to retellings that center women.

This book hurt my heart. A powerful read and something to make one think about the different perspectives during times of conflict. But, oohh, my heart.
An interesting retelling of the Trojan War and subsequent events from the female perspective. I can't say anything about how it compares to the source texts, though. Those who know them might be bored, but I really wasn't.
I listened to the audio book, and I must say that this is one of the few novels which are as rewarding when listening to as when reading them. Every chapter is interesting enough to draw you in again even if you got distracted by something. At the same time, I assume I'd still gain a lot by actually reading the book or listening to it a second time because it offers so much food for thought und rumination. Maybe one day!

First book at 2022 and it took me 7 months to get through !! But I’m back on my reading era. I absolutely adored the storytelling of these women from the Trojan Wars. Just like the author states - we always here the heroic stories of the men of wars but never the tragic stories and tales that woman must endure from these mens actions. Absolutely devastating but beautiful written.

I absolutely loved this book! Such a great read if you’re into the Odessa and Iliad; told from the perspective of the unheard voices, the women who are apart of this epic tale. I probably would have given it a higher rating if I remembered the stories better, but now this gives me a reason to reread these great tales. Definitely worth a read if you love mythology.
