this book was entertaining, i'll give it that. but that's about the only redeeming factor. this has got to be the most exploitative book i have ever read. the story is elbows-deep in poverty porn. not only that, almost every single female character in this book has been physically and emotionally abused, and many of them end up murdered.

i know this is an indian novel written by an indian man, but i think it was written for western audiences. western films set in india always highlight the slums and the grit and the crime. this book did exactly that and nothing else. i'm not indian, but people who think this book is an accurate representation of india must be out of their minds (or just westerners, or both).

yeah, no. i didn't like it.
