This series took me right into the story. By the end I was sobbing. It will definitely be moved into my favorites shelf, and I'll definitely be reading it over and over.

Absolutely amazing.

Its a difficult book to rate.

I loved the series as a whole...The series gets 5 stars.

But this book gets 3.

Spoilers below.

For a young adult novel Mockingjay takes a very harsh look at things. From the get go Katniss is in a morphling insane state. Her reaction to district 13, her deep depression and her ping pong between her feelings for 2 "men" are what I consider, beyond a 14 years olds grasp.

Her reactions to Peeta after he's rescued are what I disliked the most. This poor guy has been tortured, his brain hyjacked and messed with and Katniss only cares that her little pupple isnt following her around anymore. I understood why it was needed for a plotline, but I felt anger towards her character.

This book moved much slower than the first 2, and I found myself panicing as we moved into triple digit pages that it wasnt heading in any real direction towards a happy goal.

I also wasnt happy that all big moments were told from another place and not through Katniss eyes. We wait 3 books for the fall of the Capitol, and then our so called heroine is sleeping through it....bummer.

I'm still unclear of the assasination of President Snow..while I think she was awful and would have lead the repulic to another Capitol-like state, I was hoping the PEOPLE would over throw her. I didnt like Katniss being viewed as just a lunatic. And what happened during her trial?? So much unclear towards the end there.

As the book wound down I became super sad. The emptiness of the characters I loved ( and the death of others ) seemed meaningless and while the last few words of the book gave me chills, (you love me. real or not real? real.)the epilogue didnt. I'm glad she ended up with Peeta, but was there any happiness on doing so?
