Nearly every character in this book, besides the main character, was insufferable, in my opinion.
The concept of having gifted teenagers essentially train to solve crimes was pretty cool, I just struggled to tolerate all of the side characters. I was much more interested in the plot, which is why I placed a hold for the next book in the series immediately after finishing this one. However, now that some time has passed, I think the excitement has worn off.
This was theoretically a good book but, in retrospect, I do not think I have the capacity to read another book that involves the three nosy extras in the house.

A great young adult thriller mystery. I enjoyed every second of it. It was a little predictable for me but otherwise, it's a very great book! Can't wait to start book 2!!

This book is a good choice if looking for twists, turns, and plot-driven writing. Even though the characters are teenagers, I’d be mindful of a younger “young adult” reading this book. It’s not gory but it is descriptive. Its ending is not such a major cliff hanger- if you didn’t love the book, you can walk away with a sense of some finality. This author is big on plot and so I don’t feel as the reader as emotionally connected to any of the characters or like I really know them. It makes it hard to feel what they feel. All in all, a good read and I will be reading the next one!
