What Should We Be Worried About? Real Scenarios That Keep Scientists Up at Night by John Brockman
nerdstacey_606's review against another edition

This book had potential to make science and scientific concerns relatable to the general public. Instead it was a HUGE selection of essays that didn't include any commentary. I wished the editor included so basic information before groups of selections to ensure that the readers are able to understand what is being discussed.

This collection of essays by a bunch of really smart people includes some things to actually worry about; however, it also includes some things which the average person has no need to worry about, these generally relate to how certain aspects of particular branches of science are moving forward. There are also a few essays which I am just not smart enough to understand.

The essays are generally too short to be engaging, and largely focus on hand-wringing about issues that are decidedly not worth worrying about.
