I received an Advanced Reader Copy from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it. What can you not love about Good Hope? If you are a series reader, this book will surprise you. This book gives you a good look at characters that have just been on the periphery of previous books.
Gianna Ricci is the new stylist Marigold and Charlotte brought in to handle customers while they were out on maternity leave. She may be young but she has a lot of experience. Gianna was spending her first Christmas alone. She had been in a relationship with an older, very wealthy gentlemen who died unexpectedly right before Christmas the year before. She is currently in a fight with his kids over the money he left to her.
Ethan Shaw knew from the moment he laid eyes on Gianna that she was different and special. Fortunately or unfortunately, the town matchmaker, Gladys and her crew noticed as well. Everything was set into to place to finally fix Ethan up. Oaklee has become a part of the Matchmaking Crew and has also become good friends with Gianna and Evie, the receptionist at the salon. All the girls are in their early 20s and not in a relationship.
Oaklee has had her eye on Ethan and was very displeased to find out he was not being matched with her. This caused a huge riff between Oaklee and both groups of friends. Because I felt like I knew Oaklee from reading previous books in the series, I was surprised at the way she reacted to this situation. I also think that is what made the book. Just when you think you know where the book is going, it takes an unexpected journey that you are not sure if you are going to like but have to see how it is going to end.
Don't worry. Readers will still get their beloved HEA but who will Ethan finally set his sights on is anybody's guess. The outside influences are everywhere and readers won't know what will happen next in this lovely town. Don't get me wrong Good Hope is the same "neighbors helping neighbors" town, but some things go down when dealing with the young single. You will enjoy this book and Cindy will pull you down the road with her like she always does.

Here we have the 16th book in the Good Hope series and is no less of an experience than the previous episodes! This time, Cindy has found love between Ethan (Elias's brother) and Gianna (brought into the salon to help Marigold and Charlotte during both of their maternity leave). What a whirlwind, love at first sight relationship that started out to be! Once again, we learn more about the community of Good Hope, where everyone knows everyone and helps each other. Very much looking forward to more in the series.
I wasn't sure I was going to like Gianna at first because I thought she had a chip on her shoulder. Then I realized she was just cautious from having to deal with her situation in Chicago.
Ethan and Gianna had an immediate connection, and their chemistry was so strong. I had to admire Ethan for moving so cautiously. There was something very sweet about their growing relationship. Realizing that Gladys and Gianna had something in common was an unexpected twist. Gianna also surprised me with what she did after she spoke to Oaklee.
That saying about "can't see the forest for the trees" immediately came to mind listening to Oaklee going on about Ethan. I have to say that her behavior in this book was both unexpected and really surprising.
I enjoy reading about Good Hope. I get to revisit characters I have become familiar with as well as being introduced to new characters. It has that small town family/friendship feel that makes you want to hang out there.
Ethan and Gianna get their HEA, which is one of the great things about Good Hope. Normally an epilogue and a guaranteed HEA.

Gianna has experienced great loss in her life, a man she adored and loves. Her story begins on New Year’s Eve, and as such with a new beginning as Marigold’s back up stylist at the salon. At the NYE party, as she surveys the folks of Good Hope, Ethan Shaw comes into her world. Despite the resolve of steering clear of relationships beyond friendship, the spark between Gianna and Ethan is undeniable.
The newest (16th!) installment of the Good Hope series was lovely and I particularly liked the fact that we are seeing more of the town and meeting even more newcomers to the community. If you’re already a fan of the series, I do not think you will be disappointed; if you’re new, there’s still enough backstory to understand the rich connections within the community without it being overwhelming. I honestly love that one of the main conflicts of the book centered around Gianna and her friendship with Oaklee and how miscommunication or perhaps lack of communication can make a huge difference. I am looking forward to the next installments, as always they are a welcome respite. I received and ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 stars!
I really loved Ethan and Gianna together! Very sweet and as always I really enjoy seeing and catching up on the lives of other Good Hope residents. I still can not get enough of Good Hope! Oaklee's story is next and I can't wait to see her happy and I'm enjoying seeing all the new characters in town.

I love returning to Good Hope and visiting with my favorite characters as I’m introduced to new ones. In this case, Gianna is moving forward in life after her partner’s unexpected death. Good Hope became the welcome Gianna needed: a welcome home and a welcome to new opportunities in love. I enjoyed the cat and mouse dance between Gianna and Ethan. I also enjoyed the clean nature of their relationship as their romance developed. What I could have done less with was Oakley’s petty behavior. However, I understand its necessity for the next novel in the series. That said, if you enjoyed the previous stories, you’ll enjoy this addition. If you’re new to Good Hope, do not be dissuaded by starting in the middle of the series. Each story can run independently from the series and still wrap you in quaint small town romances.
Good Hope is my happy place. The place I dream of living one day, and this installment of the series did not disappoint!
Gianna and Ethan both have some baggage (her from a previous relationship and both of them from their families) and it's nice to see them working through it together. I love seeing two adults state their needs, and the other to respectfully follow them.
I also loved seeing the growth of one of the side characters, I cannot wait for her story. (And if Gladys ever gets her own series, I will be the first in line to buy it!)
I highly recommend this series. The books can be read alone, but honestly, it's such a nice, fun, cozy place, that I can't imagine not reading all the books.
