This book has been recieving a lot of hype on the internet and that's why I picked it up too but for me it's not worth the hype. It has been quite a sometime when I read it and all I could remember of this are the spicy parts. I am not into Spicy-Romance books but if you like it you will probably like the series too.

The rating I've given to it is solely due to it's story line and the bond of characters. Collen Hoover has very nicely interpreted that a relationship should either be healthy or it should not be. Also, she has emphasised that tolerating abuses is not a solution because it never ends then.

That's all form me!! ;)

I put off reading this one for quite some time because I didn't think it could possibly live up to the hype it got. Man, was I wrong!

It's hard to tell everything I loved about this story without majorly spoiling it, so this will be pretty short and sweet.

This story is all about survival, love, forgiveness, strength, and breaking toxic cycles. I loved the strength Lily showed, the courage she demonstrated, and the willingness and determination to stop abusive cycles in her family once and for all. This story is raw and real, and it's not for the faint of heart. Trigger warnings for abuse and assault.

The characters (side and main) were amazing, the message was profound, the quotes hit home, and the feelings...geez, the feelings never let up! From start to finish, I could not put this one down. I think it's a story that will resonate with so many people, whether you've experienced this kind of situation or not. You will walk away from it having learned and gained something. Oh, and a friendly reminder to, "Just keep swimming."

uhh pretty shit

Most days I’m so mad at him that the thought of ever forgiving him is ludicrous. But some days I miss him so much I can’t breathe. I miss the fun I had with him. I miss making love to him. I miss missing him.

I think this book found me at the exact right time. Had I picked it up at the time it was published (and so well-hyped) I would have rolled my eyes at quite a few lines, snorted with laughter, or outright quit reading halfway through chapter one. Had I picked it up after the movie came out and I watched it, it likely would have had the same effect on me. But, of all times, I had decided to pick it up just as I was going through something similar to Lily and Ryle's relationship. That being said, I can totally see the problematic bits in this book. I can see that the writing style ... does leave something to be desired. But at the same time, there is such a human element to this book, too. Something so easy to identify with, now that I'm no longer one of those people who just 'don't understand'. Because now I do understand. Now I myself have had to process the guilt, the grief, the anger, the pain, the love, all these emotions coming and going in waves. At times, it felt like Lily was saying things I was feeling - the sadness for the other person rather than sadness for myself, the doubts, the what-ifs, the 'if I just focus on the good part and ignore the rest, it might be easier to ride out the bad moments'... I am so glad she walked away in the end. I am so glad I walked away.

This book is not perfect, not by a long shot. I'm not sure I'd have called Colleen Hoover a good writer, or even just a good storyteller at any point reading this book. But she did pull at my heartstrings a time or two, and held my attention to the very last line, even made me tear up at the end. And now I'm just glad it ended with Lily and Rylee. That it ended with me and my decision to not go back, too.

You can stop swimming now, Lily. We finally reached the shore.

TW for domestic abuse! Overall enjoyed and was pleased with the ending

I actually enjoyed this one.

I was ready to be disappointed after reading ‘Verity’, but I’m impressed. There were a few cringy parts, like the whole ‘Just keep swimming’ bit, but other than that, it was a good read.

Not worth the hype at the end of the day but I'm still glad I read the book to understand why people believe this is "the love story of this generation."

Do I understand the appeal? Sure! But do I also think "It Ends With Us" was overhyped and there are better "love stories" out there? Absolutely.

1.5 stars. That is all i can give

Can't believe i finished this in one sitting. Right from the dedication page i knew it was going to be good.

start palang feel mo nang personal talaga yung story in the way na hinandle nya yung situation. in the way na sinulat nung author yung thoughts nung main character. Ang dami kong narealize sa book na to ang dami kong natutunan. it wasn't just entertainment, yung mga nabasa ko dito is mananatili sakin for a very long time. I understand now. and it hurts so much na may mga taong pinagdadaanan to irl.
