I could not for the life of me get into this book. The world never sucked me in, I didn’t care about the characters, and everything just felt flat to me. I even went back and forth between the text and the audiobook, hoping that getting farther into the book would spark something but alas, it did not. I finished the book just to finish it. I definitely will not be reading the sequel.

Even though I didn't love this book, I think this story has a lot of potencial and I'm excited for the sequels. I definitely likes Isla a lot but when it comes to the love triangle I honestly have no idea who I'm rooting for... Well, I do love Grim though.

Anyway, the plot was very good but also not super heavy which feels nice in a fantasy. I understand the hype but I think this book was just a way to prepare us for the next one.
