If you’re looking for well written smut…maybe miss this one.  The pacing was kinda all over the place, and the smut wasn’t enough to maintain it. The last quarter I was waiting for something else, some more drama more plot and just when you thought you weren’t going to get any (last 70ish pages) you did. But if some trashy drama is what you want this is your book, I read it and did want to see where it ended but only because of how ridiculous it was.

After an explosion in his home, Eason manages to pull someone from the fire. He thinks the woman he saves is his wife, but it ends up being her best friend Bree. Both Eason's wife and Bree's husband pass away that night. They have to lean on and support each other while they navigate the fallout of the tragic night.

This story is beautiful. It is all about finding love in unexpected places and rebuilding your life after a life-altering tragedy. Bree and Eason's lives have been turned upside down, not only by the loss of their spouses, but by what they find out after the fact. As they grapple with their new normal and struggle to cope, they form an unshakable bond.

I really loved Bree and Eason together. Their relationship had an unconventional start, but it understandable how two people could form such a strong bond under such traumatic circumstances. They were each other's strength and supporting shoulder through everything. I adored the family dynamic and how they embraced each other's children as their own. I LOVED their open communication and how they talked about going to therapy.

Going into this book, I didn't realize there was a bit of mystery/thriller element. Once I caught on that was the route the book was heading, the big surprise wasn't really that shocking, but it was an interesting twist.

The story isn't super believable, but it was a well written and emotional book. It did seem like there was a bit too much going on with
the explosion, coping with the trauma, discovering they were cheating, Luna's paternity, Luna being kidnapped, Bree's husband actually being alive, plus the whole music career angle. Cutting out/back on a few of those would have made the story a little less far fetched.
