I’ve read SO many books set in WW2, and specifically so many about the Holocaust and Jewish history.
This book was a unique and deep perspective on this time in history- and I loved every second.
As Jodi picoult reviewed, this “novel will break your heart, and then stitch it back together piece by piece.” I think that happened to me multiple times during this novel!
Heart breaking, historically accurate, and absolutely stunning character development…. HIGHLY recommend!
I loved how she wove Hebrew language throughout, and included so much about Jewish faith & religious beliefs.

Really interesting book. Really liked all the different perspectives.

Would have liked to learn a bit more about Jewish magic, that really interested me, it started off really surrounding that but then didn't come back to it at all.

Was really easy to picture every setting the Author created.

Pretty easy read, would recommend.

This was an unexpected twist on a WWII novel and I loved it! The narrator was very good and the author’s note about writing the hidden Jewish children in Europe made it even better!

I freakin loved this book.

I'm always awed by Hoffman's writing, her seamless use of real history with magical realism.

WWII historical fiction is my favourite. I enjoyed how this was another interpretation of the history, meaning being told in the view points it was. I really did like how there was so much hope throughout the entire novel and how as a reader you could feel it.

Loved this book. Please read it!

Stunning. The exploration of the will it takes to survive, the sacrifices of love, the fearless determination to strive to do what is right when the odds are ridiculously stacked against you. Absolutely loved.
