Really liked it. My beef? Part 3. I didn't like the resolutions. Was hoping for something different.

LISTEN.
the happy ending of it all should irritate me more. on some level, it does. everyone ends up great and dandy and just fine? lucky and smiling? hm… and yet. HERE I AM, smiling with them. for context: I am someone who reads fanfiction of alternate canonical events for tv shows and whatnot… so its, unfortunately, in my nature to want every character I grew fond of to escape from the unraveling of their in-universe conflicts, hand-in-hand, strolling through a field of sunflowers and shit. however, I also must acknowledge that I tend to like original source material for what it does, even when it breaks my heart. especially when it breaks my heart, y’know what I mean? just because its sad and I look for solace in rewritten works doesn’t mean its necessarily the wrong way to go about it. like, things just fucking suck most of the time, and they stay sucky. ughhhhhh. I think that, ultimately, I liked this, with my major complaint sitting right beside my enjoyment as company — that last sentence about price pulled my heartstrings, and it was such a cherry on top of the sundae for me. I DON’T KNOW.
I’m torn on how to feel as a whole, but it was a fun journey!

I read this in a couple of hours so it was pretty fast paced and fairly gripping from the beginning, and it felt like the story could’ve been really good, however it felt like a lot of the plot lines weren’t properly fleshed out / didn’t get concluded. As usual thrillers go, everything wraps up in the last couple of chapters but I felt like I didn’t warm massivly to the main characters and felt like a lot had been missed out.

Didn't see it coming, again! Did I just solidify my favorite author? I think so!
