Captive in the Dark

This book was dark and twisted but impossible to put down. It takes you to a life you only see on the movies and sucks you in. You feel so many different emotions about Caleb and Lizzie. At times it made me cringe at the things being done. Still a good easy read.

Man, this really wasn't my cup of tea at ALL.

A compelling dark erotica. Very well written, sad and sexy all in one.

¡Me he enamorado del secuestrador!

This is arguably the best book I've read in this genre. The fuckery is real and the characters are deeply flawed and infinitely compelling. SO good. I could not put it down.

Review to come....

AH! SO CONFUSED!

I loved this book! But going through both Livvie and Caleb's relationship throughout the book was both...disturbing, yet completely understandable and just...them.

I had so many mixed feeling with this book I didn't know what to feel anymore, but in the end I didn't want it to end!

Is it hot in here or is it just me?

I've got to know what happens next. But maybe later after I get some sleep...

What can I say. Well written, captivating, amazing, brilliant. There really isn´t much to say. I loved it.

Edit: Wow its been 10 years since I read this the first time. I remembered it as longer. I read it in two days. I liked Caleb a lot more when I read it the first time. It´s still a good book though and my rating stands.

If you want flowers and butterflies, this isn't the story for you! But if you want real strength and determination in a female character and can stomach the darkness this is an excellent story. Livvie was kidnapped with the intention of being sold as a sex slave. There are some horrible and graphic parts of this story that are very difficult to read. Especially if you're a realist like me and know that things like this happen in real life. But the writing is intelligent and well thought out!

I'll probably give this 3.5 stars. I liked it, but didn't love it. I picked it up, cause I was curious about the controversy surrounding it. It was a tough read, especially at the beginning. During some parts, I admit I was wondering what the heck was I reading!? But as expected, the Stockholm Syndrome thing happens, and an element of romance is introduced later on. I really hope the second and third books improve!
