Wow what a rollar coaster. I found this book very intriguing. Violence, terror, and human trafficking provide a backdrop for a story about two people whose lives are to be forever changed from the moment they meet. extremely disturbing. well written . Smart, sexy and dramatic plot-and-character driven erotica.
dark sad tense slow-paced

I’ve been reading this free eBook for research on a new project I’m working on.

Now, no kink shame. I’ve discovered this is a niche form of erotica or dark romance, and to each their own. But I’ve read much better, well written smut on A03. Captive in the Dark isn’t good smut, at all.

So much of this book is just... bad, bland writing. I never feel the desperation or fear when the character is kidnapped. I never feel intrigued by the “handsome, irresistible” kidnapper. Quite bluntly, this is just a bad written book that’s done well because it’s targeting a very specific audience who aren’t being catered to.

I have to stop reading disgustingly dark books that I find on random blogs online, they’re doing something fucked up to my brain

I really enjoyed the first 75% of this book, mainly because of the writing style, but the last 25% was kinda lost on me so idk… the ending also wasn’t my favorite…

I can relate to this so much. It really touched me. It was emotional and I felt the pain.

Started out okay but kind of fell flat in the end. I didn’t particularly connect with anything and struggled to stay engaged.

This book was very entertaining!

It belongs in the same category as the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy but in my opinion it is infinitely better. I love the themes explored in this book and can't wait to read the next one.

Not a very sophisticated read but perfect for some light evening entertainment!
