I watched Kubrick's last film, Eyes Wide Shut, a few weeks ago and the end credits said it was based on this novella, so I read it. The film followed the novella surprisingly closely, a man driven to seek out other women after his wife tells him of a dream in which she was with another man. The husband in the story almost as ridiculous as Tom Cruise's character in the film.

Great story. Felt really touched by it and the whole psychoanalytic aspect of it, specially after watching Eyes Wide Shut by Stanley Kubrick. I loved the existential aspect of desire that Feidolin and his wife shared.
