SO so wonderful! I loved getting to see all sides of the war and truly seeing it from the perspectives that simply don't get shared. It asks all the hard questions that the bards don't answer, "What happens to the women and children who survived after the Greeks won the Trojan War?", "What about all the wives who lost their husbands and children who lost their fathers?", etc. I feel like I have a much better understanding on it now, and I actually preferred this to any other recounting and the Iliad and Odyssey themselves. It covers the entire story (for the most part), this time including the women.

This is a retelling of the Trojan War, but from the perspective of the women. I really enjoyed hearing each of their stories and what happened to them as the men were at war.

A very interesting read. The author was able to make you sympathize for each woman very quickly, and it was interesting to think about the impact of the war on women, since it’s not talked about nearly enough. The only thing I didn’t like was Penelope’s chapters- for anyone who has read The Odyssey, it’s a tired retelling of it, with little actual insight to Penelope’s side of the story until her last 2 chapters.
