This series is so good OMG. I LOVE Luther & Diem!! The reason it’s not 5 stars is because there were lots of moments I cringed because I knew Diem was being too stubborn and embarrassing herself, but that is part of her personality. Cannot wait for the next book!

DID NOT FINISH: 45%

I found the first book to be a promising series start, but 266 pages into book 2 and I can’t do it anymore. FMC and MMC are so annoying and inconsistent. And I’m not talking about their relationship being inconsistent — their character traits and motivations seem to wildly vary by chapter. And then they’re are just several weird scenes and dialogue that sound like no human ever.

I know I said I liked a slowburn, but really? 3 kisses in 2 books and that's all you're giving me?!
Less enemies to lovers in this book, but a lot happens. I will say in my opinion it was almost too surface level. I wish I could get more information on the religious aspect and more history of the gods and crowns of the descended. We see a little growth of Diem, but also she's really fucking annoying sometimes. Home girl has little to no education outside of healers and yet she's suddenly extremely political with almost no advisors? She knows how to handle leaders of different houses, but doesn't know what dresses to wear? It seems very contradictory to me.
