i think that it says a lot that it took me over a month to finish a book that's only 270 pages yike. it wasn't bad but also like, it didn't make me feel anything??? like i'm supposed to care about these characters and i just... didn't. at all.

This book was a really fun read, but it didn't quite fill the Simon vs./Red, White, and Royal Blue- sized hole in my heart. I thought Ollie and his aunt's relationship was amazing and that everything surrounding it was beautifully written. I loved Ollie and Will and the way their relationship progressed, and the author did a good job at making the reader see both sides of their conflict. The friends here were also (mostly) well-written and compelling on their own, but a little too much time was spent on their relationship follies, which wasted time I wanted to be used expanding Ollie and Will's. My main complaint is that we didn't get enough time to see and enjoy them as a couple. They were super cute, but they weren't epic enough that I was desperately flipping pages hoping they ended up together.
