Good book, as are the previous books in the series. Can't wait to read the next one.

A lot of people liked this book, but I found myself constantly distracted from the story by how much I disliked Brianna and Roger. Roger just seems like an asshole and Brianna is expressed by everyone as such an adult but acts like a 5 year old most of the time. The conflict between everyone saying "wow Brianna is such a grown woman!" and how she actually acts is extremely bothersome and infuriating. She constant complains "my mother, my father, my fathers, the marriages, my husband, my baby." And then when it comes to things she would actually have a valid reason to complain about, she doesn't say anything (the rape). Everything could have been avoided if Brianna and roger weren't so hotheaded, stubborn (omg! If that word is repeated in reference to Scottish people again, I will vomit), and plain stupid. If the author is going to continue with these two characters the same way in this series, then I'm really not sure I can continue reading it. I wish they were literally anyone else.

This, of course, is not a testament to the great writing style, well-researched historical references, other great characters, and fascinating plot that the two most annoying characters in the world surround.

I'm on the fence about how I feel about this one. I just don't know about Brianna and Roger. Everything seemed to happen really quickly there. Idk we'll see.

Wonderful! This is the best series I have read in along time. It is a little slow reading for me, but worth it totally. Lots of details. Really gets you to thinking. I am so glad there are more books in this series. Keep them coming Diana Galbaldon !!

Crazy family drama, amazing early US history, a peak into the past that had me hooked from the first page!
