The book overall was awesome. The character development of some characters was truly lovely to read and the end is a literal emotional rollercoaster so prepare yourselves a good amount of tissues!!

I’m dead. How do I even start any other book after this one? This series has been incredible so far with the love triangles, the fantasy landscape, and the cast of wonderful characters, but this last book has truly ended the series with a bang.

So many twists and turns, a slightly slow start but once it picks up it is pretty much non-stop until the end. Tears were shed, books were *almost* thrown at walls, squeals were heard near-constantly while reading, and my face looked pretty much like this →

My thoughts on this book are so complicated. I didn’t hate it, and I really did like parts. But at the same time I’m glad to be done with this series.

Definitely more action than the other two books, but the book was building up tension only for me to be let down at the end. There were some cute Mal x Alina moments though.

This is a strong ending to the shadows and bone trilogy.
I do think that one of the biggest things that I didn’t like was the lack of Nikolai within this book, as he was the most enjoyable character for me.
I also felt like the battle between the Darkling and Alina, though poignant, was a bit disappointing after waiting for three books for it. The writing in his death was moving and made me feel sad for him and also pity him.

Nikolai, Genya, David and Zoya are my favourites! They are written so well.
The ending was done well with the after section. I loved it, and it was sweet.

I thought this was a great conclusion! The characters were all at their best.
