This book was heading for a 5 star review until the last 3 chapters when he over and over again went into how disgusting the fat bear was. The disgusting display of fat-phobia is costing this book two stars. It was a very creative look at historical fiction set so far in the past that I've never seen another historical fiction writer try to take it on. It was set when men were coming out of the forest and starting to live in villages. It follows the last man to live in the forest as he loses everything and everyone he loves to the village. It was a lot of fun, and I really enjoyed it until the last 3 chapters. Leemet manages to be likable despite a random rampage of murder after the murder of the snakes and his mother. And the other characters are generally fun to be around for a while.
