LOVE the cover! I definitely picked this because of the cover. It was dark, immersive, and atmospheric. This started off strong and really hooked me from the beginning. It was creepy and intriguing. However, this just went in a direction I wasn't fond of. I felt the whole second half of this book was very weak and somewhat boring, especially when compared to the beginning. I felt like this had a lot of unreached potential.

DID NOT FINISH: 16%

I just could not get into it. I didn’t much care for the characters.

It took me a few days to finish this book and every time I put it down I had so many questions and theories. Theorizing is one of my favorite things and I think the concept of all the characters except for Megan knowing what happened really fueled this. As Megan was finding out information and putting the pieces together so was I. I found myself thinking about this book when I wasn’t reading it and I really thought that once I finished the book I would continue to think about it. Unfortunately that was not the case. While a majority of this book left me with a feeling of wanting more the ending did not. While the ending may not have met my expectations I couldn’t possibly give this book less than four stars solely for how captivated and in some instances shocked I was for most of it. I would do anything to read this book for the first time again, the ending included.

once again i wish i was a rich film producer because this book would make a killer screen adaptation. the gruesome imagery, the slowburn mystery, the likable cast of characters, the horrific gore and absolutely gnarly kills - this book has everything i want in an ideal horror novel. the best comparison i have is i know what you did last summer meets jennifer’s body meets…nightmare on elm street?! you will be left guessing until the very end - and beyond. i loved reading this book. easy 5 stars for me.

This was a very good mash up of a bunch of 90s tropes. Slasher, creature feature, and physiological horror/gore. I really liked the concept of this of this book, and I feel it was executed very well. The absolute creepiness and body horror were immaculate. I had shivers running down my spine. I only had a problem with a few confusing parts and a little bit dragged. But it is so worth the read! 4/5

This was by far one of the most fascinating books I have ever read. This one will have me thinking for a couple of days, for sure.

The descriptions in this book were so disturbing; I often found myself cringing at how utterly disgusting they were.

This book has the very odd ability to disturb, fascinate, and confuse me. This book will make you think and rethink everything you read on every page. I low-key expected the plot twist at the end, and then another one happened that I did not expect at all.

If you're a horror fan who also enjoys a good mystery, this is definitely a good pick for you. I wholly recommend this.
