I really enjoyed this. The imagery in this book was as beautiful as that GORGEOUS cover. It is a chilling story, that I found got a little slow and a bit confusing in the middle but the ending more than makes up for it! I really started 2024 out with a bang! This one will definitely stick with me for a long while.
This was an incredibly unique take on a “monster” or “bad guy” in a story and once I got to the end I didn’t know what was up or down and every sentence there was a new twist. This book was so beautifully written and able to evoke so many feelings! The cover is my favorite that I have ever seen and that’s what drew me in. I went in completely blind and had no idea what I signed up for! From the start when we met Lewis and his crab pot I was hooked, it did lose me in the middle a bit with the constant jumping from POVs but reeled me back in at the end! Overall a great way to start the year!
Bizarre, twisted, strange… but yet, you can’t stop reading it. It did remind me of that 80’s movie The Blob.
Loved the writing and was genuinely icked out and horrified by some of the content. A few pacing issues lost it a star for me.
