A lone survivor of her family's murder is forced to face the fact she doesn't know the whole truth.

With alternating chapters set in present and the night of the murders, it is a creepy ride as you slowly discover the truth as the narrator dives deeper into that fateful night.

The book starts a little slow and the motivation to get Libby to start investigating the murders is a bit weak but once it starts I found myself needing to know the truth.

Gillian Flynn is great at having unlikeable female characters, which is refreshing.

Having previously read the author’s best seller, I figured I had a firm grasp on where this story was headed. I was SO wrong. I had a difficult time putting the book down, but I needed to take “breaks” from the truly dark nature of this novel.

The story is so carefully thought out, heartbreaking, and nerve-wracking. I had a clear image of the setting and the character development was strong.

Awesome! So fast paced and better than Sharp Objects! Take a bow Gillian Flynn.

This is an very good novel. I floated between 4 and 5. I read Gone Girl 1st and that was a 5 star for sure, this one was just a bit down on the star rating. Its Black and depressing, with the main character that's both pathetic and disgusting, but likable at the same time. I love from Gillian Flynn fills in all the blanks to solve the mystery.
