I loved this. It is slow, but it’s nice, and I am glad to have gotten to know these characters.

this was perfection. the writing isn't anything phenomenal, but you get so connected to each character. you root for every single one and you feel like you're friends by the end of the book. everyone has lost something in their lives but they find what they're looking for, along with some closure, by the end. everything is neatly wrapped up, and sometimes you just need a book like that ya know. i love how this had some romance elements and even thriller-esque elememts as well. i love stories with several povs that find their ways to come together & i wish this book were longer!

I really liked that this book explored grief, and I especially liked that we explored grief through the lens of an older gentleman who lost his beloved wife. I think this perspective is less common in fiction, and I liked that we got to see this form of grief expressed through the character of Chuck.

That being said, I think I would’ve liked to explore Chuck’s character more without the other two main characters in this book. Ella and Kirsten’s stories were more of a distraction than an addition to the story in my opinion.

I enjoyed this book. It reminds us that we never know what another person is going through. We need to remember to show grace to those around us.
