This book was alright. it didn't really need to be written and added to the series, it doesn't really add anything you don't already know from the others. Snow's prequel was better as it showed a lot more backstory, this one you go in pretty much knowing how it all plays out.

The only negative thing I could say is that this is not a standard alone novel. It is necessary that it's read 5th and it is better if they trilogy & ballad are fresh in your mind. But that is part of the brilliance!! How do you expand such a thoroughly explored world? This. Is. How! I'm a diehard fan and my jaw was on the FLOOR with a lot of the context provided in this novel. Bravo!

It was okay, not as well-written as the others. Felt a lot like a rushed job with a lot of fan service. Collins is great with plots but the dialogue and pacing felt stiff and unrealistic.
