Competently written, by-numbers romantic comedy, that's not very romantic or funny. Predictably includes balcony scene, vintage car, retro-pop soundtrack, broken nose and a finale at a very obvious location. It comes as no surprise either that the novel was originally planned as a film script as it borrows heavily on Richard-Curtis-style rom-com tropes.

Great rom-com with a twist in perspective. Fun summertime, read.

Starts off with a promising premise (an Aspie narrator), but takes a quick detour to being highly predictable and chock full of tired cliches. Can’t find love protagonist, manic pixie dream girl with daddy issues, life-changing romantic trip to New York, the womanizing best friend with terrible advice, etc.
