Jack Reacher is a one man wrecking crew! This one has more violence (fatal) than others in the series, but he's back to using his unique time-keeping ability and strategic thinking to deal with the challenges he faces. Reacher is akin to a modern day Paladin, though he certainly would not see himself that way. In this case, he starts out trying to help an old man, then expands his view to helping the man's family, and eventually escalates to cleaning up an entire city. But the devil's in the details, and that's where it holds my attention.

Maybe 3.5. Not one of Lee Child's best. Reacher is Reacher, a lot of carnage...more than usual, and a thin storyline. But if you've been waiting for the latest installment, this will do.

I enjoyed the book as long as I didn’t think about it too much. I would not have been surprised if Reacher’s bullets started rounding corners to hit the bad guy in the only part of his head not behind the hostage.

a lot of work must go into creating novels like this. if only the author had spent a little more work on learning how to write a character who actually seems human .

I've read all the Jack Reacher books and consider myself a big fan. This one I found to be somewhat more far-fetched almost to the point of being completely unbelievable. At the same time, there was some uncommon humor in this story or perhaps it was just me giggling about some of the totally unbelievable scenes that Jack found himself in.
And the bodies! Oh, how the bodies pile up.
Still, it's a 4 star for me because it's Jack! Still fun.
