People you randomly run into aren't usually good at urban assault, but that only occurred to me a few hours after finishing the book. Incredulous it may be, but I believed it in the moment, so Mr. Child remains in control of his readers. Better dialog than usual, IMO.

It’s the usual Reacher formula, somewhat predictable but enjoyable nonetheless.  When you struggle to find something to read, Reacher, is there waiting..

I received an advance copy of this book on Saturday through a Goodreads giveaway. It arrived promptly. Always wait for the next Jack Reacher with anticipation of a good read and this did not disappoint. I could barely put it down. However it is more violent than many of the earlier books. Highly recommend to all Lee Child/Jack Reacher fans.

The Jack Reacher series is one I've enjoyed in the past. I've not read all the previous books in the series but I don't think that's necessary to grasp the character and the general gist of the Blue Moon. There's plenty of the action and adventure synonymous with this series and the novel is well paced with a solid plot. One of the things I liked most about Blue Moon is you get what you expect. There's guns and car chases, bad guys and Reacher just doing his thing. His one liners made me laugh although I'm not entirely sure they were meant as humourous. The side characters were a little underdeveloped (I wanted to know more about them beyond just being there to further Reacher's journey) and unremarkable. But Reacher was in his element throughout it all. Overall Blue Moon is a fun read for anyone who has enjoyed Jack Reacher's previous adventures.

Reacher books are usually a quick read. They can be entertaining for plot twist and turns. This one was not. I've read quite a few Reacher novels. I know they are full of violence. But somehow this one seemed to have more deaths than necessary. The only solutions applied seemed to be killing people. I don't know that I will read another.

First read: I'm all caught up on the Reacher series, reading over 23 years of Reacher in under 4 years  (2*)

Re-read: a pretty standard Reacher mission but even on reread it wasn’t any more exciting. It also felt fairly repetitive (2*)

Usually enjoy a good Jack Reacher book as have read all the others but this one felt different, a bit off, not the normal Jack style. Not like Jack to kill all the bad guys without a scratch and especially the amount he did. Also didn’t realise Jack was into cutting off heads. Maybe in his old age he is getting tired of travelling and being polite and needs to get rid of some of that? Hopefully next book is better.
