I think it's well written and very realistic. The way Cath describes her emtions and inner battles, and the way she her view of the world and everything around her slowly changes is absolutely wonderful. I couldn't put down the book without knowing how it would all end.

By far one of my favorite YA novels. I love how the book manages to deliver a message of hope and selflessness without downplaying or sugarcoating the devastation of mental illness. I wish I got to read books like this when I was still in high school.
Initially, I was enjoying this more than I expected too but for the last 50 or so pages it met its downfall. The ending felt rushed, and extremely too perfect. I felt a bit like she "magically" recovered and that it tried to hard to get a certain message across. Entertaining, I almost would recommend if it weren't for the last hundred or so pages. However, I did get attached to the characters and felt like they were really well developed.

Nonni is the best character in this damn book. That is all.
Graphic: Bullying, Mental illness, Suicidal thoughts, Suicide attempt
Moderate: Eating disorder, Blood
Minor: Alcoholism

This book was so good because it didn't utilize my least favorite trope of girl meets boy and boom her mental health issues are cured! Catherine has bipolar disorder and she's trying to figure out how and if she wants to continue with life with this disorder. Following the people she met in school and while getting professional help were added bonuses! Loved the characters, the attention to details, the cover, and the research that went into this book! Great depiction of what it's actually like to live with mental health issues and what a positive light therapy can be when working with the right doctor and treatment plan for you!
