What I really liked about this special edition was that it had nothing to do with the Yeerks. It was a nice break from the stress of the invasion war, and have a totally all new problem to deal with: being sent back in time to the dinosaurs!
Coincidentally, I was also listening to the audiobook of Jurassic park, so I think I am all dinosaured out atm.

My biggest problem with this is that we apparently don’t get any more Dino’s. UNLEASH THE DINOS

I have action figures of Jake, Cassie and Marco that combine into a T-Rex (totally not canon, Hasbro. They never combine morphs. *Eyeroll*) So I might be a little biased. But... DINOSAURS YAAAASSSSS...

Can someone tell me how old these kids are? Because some of the hard choices they have to make would have destroyed any adult. How are they still functional?

Marco of all people comes up with the idea that the Animorphs step in and help a search team find and rescue the crew of a lost nuclear submarine.

Before you know it, the Animorphs are caught up in another Sarian Rip! No spoiler alert needed seeing as how the book is called 'In the Time of the Dinosaurs', and as great and subtle a writer as Applegate has turned out to be, she wasn't working with that level of metaphor in the '90s. The Animorphs go back in time some 65 million years, but its not what you may expect.

They encounter two alien races, the Mercora and the Nesk, as well as many species of dinosaurs. This is a great adventure, it showcases some high level of teamwork between team members when they get separated, and for some reason there are some side-effects to morphing in the past.

I love a good time travel adventure and seeing Cassie show off her survival skills was especially entertaining.

This one was great! The initial plot is really just an excuse to get sent back in time to the dinosaurs. Honestly, that's okay, because this is a very cool Animorphs story. Ax is my favorite as always.

The Animorphs accidentally travelled back to the Late Cretaceous age. If your dinosaur-related knowledge, like mine, is pretty much limited to T-Rex = scary, Littlefoot = herbivore, that is the last age of the dinosaurs. It wasn't difficult to guess where the story was heading, but I enjoyed getting there.

Also, this line made me laugh: 'We were all treated to the utterly bizarre sight of an osprey attempting to hug a dinosaur.' Ah Animorphs - so bizarre and yet so entertaining.
