A really sweet children's book. I have been a fan of the movie since I was a child, and had to give this a quick read when I found out the film was based off of this. Wish I had this on my shelf when I was a kid!

Es war wirklich zauberhaft in diese Geschichte einzutauchen, zumal ich bis dato nur den Anime Film kannte von Hayao Miyazaki, da ich die Ghibli Filme einfach liebe.
Und so mehr hat es mich gefreut das nun auch die Bücher ins deutsche übersetzt werden.

Kiki, die junge Hexe, wird flüge und verlässt ihr zu Hause um ihre eigenen Weg in einer anderen Stadt zu finden. Ich mochte Kikis Art. Immer fröhlich, lässt sich nicht so schnell unter kriegen und nimmt jede Gelegenheit beim Schopfe. Begleitet wird sie von ihren Kater Jiji, denn ich total knuffig finde. Man erlebt mit Kiki ihren neuen Lebensabschnitt und wie sie verschiedene Situationen auf ihre Art meistert.
Ich fand die einzelnen Geschichten sehr schön und das die Stadtbewohner Kiki immer besser kennenlernen.
Ich freue mich schon auf die anderen Bücher. Und was alles Kiki noch erleben wird. Die Übersetzung ist gut gelungen, da sich die Geschichten sehr flüssig lesen lassen.

That was darling. Read it in a single afternoon! Eiko Kadono really knows how to write - engaging, sweet, and funny. And very creative - both the story concept and how Kiki dealt with the problems she encountered on the way.
Not to mention, the vibes are impeccably cozy :3 🥰

Kiki’s Delivery Service is one of my favorite Ghibli films. I’m really happy that the source material has received a second translation in recent years. I hope that Delacorte Press decides to take on the rest of the series for publication. This book was refreshingly crisp like an apple or a pear your grandpa peels and cuts up for you.
