Isabel Allende did what she needed to do to tell this story in the most painless way possible.
It’s a book that leaves you feeling compassion and hope but at times will make you cry. It’s truly amazing how well thought out everything in this book is. There’s plenty of wholesome moments and plenty of gruesome and horrifying ones.
Human nature on display, captured and conveyed in a way that stays as neutral and compassionate as possible.
The book reminds us of the power of spirituality, the strength of women and the horror of “revenge” and “justice” that drives people to do horrifying acts. It reminds us of the importance of love and compassion.

Absolutely beautiful. The way the stories are weaved through the generations, the same traits appear and lives cross shows the art of Allende's pen. This was the best book I have read in a long time.
