It feels weird to quit after only 39 pages but I was already on the fence (it being a YA retelling) and I'm not really a fan of the writing or of the audiobook narrator.

Short Review: I enjoyed this! 3.75/5, this feels like one I'm going to need to read the whole series for to have a serious opinion, and a lot of the things I liked about it would be spoiler-y, so I'm going to leave it at that for this one until I finish the series!

With that being said, I had a fun time, I was intrigued, and I'm really gay for woman knights

I truly am a sucker for anything Arthurian! I loved this twist on Guinevere and can't wait for the next installment.

When I first saw this book I was going through my recommendations on goodreads. This was a very lucky find, for most of the recommendations Goodreads recommends me are usually out of random and almost never what I like to read. I enjoyed the pacing of the story and I enjoyed how the plot unfolded. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. Also excited for there is an Owlcrate exclusive of this book and its not incredibly expensive ( yay )

I wanted to DNF but then got too far in. Don’t ask me why I’m continuing with the series because the answer is depressing. This book isn’t bad but it’s not good either. It feels more like a presentation of ideas than a story I care about and feel connected to. The ideas are stronger than the writing and the storytelling and it feels like there’s a mismatch. I’m hoping Mordred kills Arthur (as per usual) and that we’re cheering by the end of the series. Our main character feels more like a narrator than a main character so its frustrating wanting to be in the head of literally anyone else.
