Ahhhh there are so many feelings god
I want Emilia back please and thank you I did not think I would care this much for her character but I Ache
There are some structural issues with the book and some of the tropes are iffy or feel fake but the characters are absolutely wonderful

Absolutely gorgeous and absolutely devastating.

* reminiscent of All the Light We Cannot See (Anthony Doerr) in some ways

This book is the first book I have been able to finish this year, which is a testament to its greatness. It was an easy read but still engaging and thought provoking.

This wasn’t my favorite Ruta Sepetys. I found the perspective of Alfred to be very off putting, but I think the pace was great and the content was solid. Overall, the elements included were extremely unique and it’s definitely worth a read.
